Pair of silver-plated brass candlesticks – Late 18th century / Early 19th century
A beautiful pair of silver-plated brass church candlesticks, resting on tripod bases with claw feet, decorated with geometric motifs, beaded friezes, and stylized foliage.
The shafts feature an elegant succession of balusters and decorative motifs in relief, topped by wide, fluted candle holders with their original, visible spikes.
The decoration, combining neoclassical elements with plant motifs, is reminiscent of works from the late 18th or early 19th century.
Beautiful antique patina, with traces of oxidation and wear on the silver plating, revealing the brass in places.
Condition: The set shows signs of use and age. The rims of the candle holders are slightly warped and show a few small dents. Wear on the silver plating and traces of old wax. See detailed photographs.
