Antique cast-iron mailbox — L. Delachanal, Paris
Wall-mounted cast-iron mailbox with architectural decoration, from the late 19th or early 20th century.
Its hipped roof, adorned with a scale-like pattern, is topped by a finial. The front features scrollwork and relief motifs, along with the inscription “POSTES.” The “L. DELACHANAL PARIS” mark appears on the lower section.
Mail slot equipped with a metal flap. Hinged front door and two mounting brackets on the back.
Shows signs of use with surface oxidation, wear, and remnants of old paint. The door opens; the latch mechanism should be checked.
A beautiful decorative piece for an entryway or a collection of postal items.
