Urania Holland Art Nouveau Goblet, Model 1222, Circa 1905–1910

Elegant Art Nouveau goblet from the Urania factory in Maastricht, model 1222, circa 1905–1910.

A beautiful metal mount with a bronze-brown patina, featuring an architectural design highly representative of Dutch Jugendstil, supporting its original cut-glass bowl.

The design features four legs, double supports with curved lines, and two side handles, creating a particularly sculptural silhouette.

The piece is marked “URANIA HOLLAND 1222” on the base.

Urania was a short-lived Dutch manufacturer, founded in Maastricht in 1903 by Hubert Regout and active until 1910. It produced a remarkable collection of metal objects in the Jugendstil style, influenced in particular by the work of German designers Friedrich Adler and Hans Peter.

The glass bowl is original and in very good condition. The base is slightly unstable due to a very slightly warped foot, which could be straightened. This detail is inconspicuous and does not affect the piece’s presentation.
