Ceramic Lamp Attributed To Bitossi – Italy, 1970s – Orange, Brown, And Gold Design

A stunning Italian ceramic lamp from the 1970s, attributed to Bitossi, featuring a textured geometric design with alternating bands of orange, black and gold.

The cylindrical ceramic body is particularly striking for its small-checkered pattern and color scheme, which are very characteristic of 1970s Italian design. The ceramic is mounted on a black metal base , and there is also a brass metal element at the top, between the ceramic and the lamp holder, which gives the piece height and presence.

The bottom is marked with the number B37/22. The “22” corresponds to the height of the ceramic section.

The ceramic is in very good condition, with no chips or cracks.

The lamp is presented with a vintage lampshade from the 1970s—new from old stock (deadstock). The  cream, brown, and orange tones complement the base’s design in a harmonious period pairing.

The assembly also features a hole near the base of the ceramic, which originally allowed for more conventional wiring, though  we believe the  metal elements are original.
