Pair Of Walnut Stools - Louis XIV Period - 17th Century

An elegant pair of Louis XIV-era stools in carved walnut, resting on four curved legs that end in scrolls. The legs are joined by a curving crossbar forming an elegant fretwork pattern, typical of French furniture from the late 17th century.

The structure, which is very stable, features beautiful carving and the warm patina of aged walnut. The crossbars and brace reflect a design still influenced by the Baroque aesthetic characteristic of the reign of Louis XIV.

The seats are upholstered and covered with a damask fabric featuring a floral pattern in shades of red, embellished with a decorative fringe and a row of upholstery tacks. The upholstery and fabric are later additions.

A beautiful decorative set that can be used as occasional seating, at the foot of a bed, or in a classic interior.
