A beautiful pair of gilded bronze curtain tiebacks, dating from the second half of the 19th century, during the

Napoleon III era.

Particularly decorative, they are adorned with remarkable grotesque heads with open mouths, rendered with great depth and expressiveness. This original and uncommon design gives them a theatrical presence, in the spirit of the Neo-Renaissance and Baroque ornamentation popular during the Second Empire.

Each tieback retains its metal plate on the back, allowing for simple and secure wall mounting.

The set is in very good overall condition. There is only some wear and loss of gilding on the parts exposed to friction, which is clearly visible in the photographs and consistent with the age of these objects.
