bookcase with support height in mahogany and flamed mahogany veneer.
a bibus piece of furniture or bookcase consisting of a bowl-shaped top in the style of cabaret tables. the top rests on an open box whose sides are squared with diamond decoration protected by glass.
below this bookcase opens with doors releasing shelves, these doors are veneered with a beautiful flamed mahogany which is also found on the sides. the uprights of the boxes are formed of fluted empire columns decorated with empire bronzes. these bookcases rest on ball feet decorated with gilded lotus leaves.
the mahogany shelf has been decorated with a later plywood fitting. original brass locks and keys. the locks work.
not too flashy waxed varnish finish. the backs are in white wood and plywood.
very good general condition.
