Antique piece in patinated metal, adorned with a fleur-de-lis motif and beaded rings. During this period, influenced by Viollet-le-Duc’s restoration projects (such as the Château de Pierrefonds or the Cité de Carcassonne), artistic metalworkers produced a vast number of architectural hardware pieces inspired by the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. The combination of a cut-out plate and a movable beaded ring (or baluster-style) is very characteristic of the prestigious cast or forged hardware pieces produced in the 19th century to adorn bourgeois residences or restored buildings in the neo-medieval style.
