FIREFIGHTER'S HELMET FROM THE TOWN OF CHASSERICOURT, 1830 model, July Monarchy.

Helmet made entirely of brass. The helmet crown is topped by a crest decorated with oak branches, stamped with a descending series of six gadroons. The faceplate is stamped with a flaming bomb. Each side flap is attached to the crown by three conical-headed screws. Black horsehair chenille. Rear headband stamped with flower corollas. Movable visor richly decorated with crossed axes and laurel branches. Neck guard encircled by a brass band. The front plate is embossed with a wreath of oak leaves; at its center are two crossed axes, a burning pyre, and an exploding grenade, with a ribbon at the bottom bearing the inscription “COMne DE CHASSERICOURT,” and in the upper part, a ribbon bearing the inscription “SAPEUR POMPIER”; the entire design is set against a cluster of flags. In the upper part, the front plate is embossed with the Gallic rooster on a radiating background. The plume holder has a square cross-section that tapers slightly toward the bottom. The jugular straps each consist of a rosette embossed with raised godrons and a leather chin strap covered with a brass plate stamped with a series of raised scales.
In good overall condition; please note a small chip and crack on the front plate and a small dent on the upper left side of the crest, visible in the photos.
