SET: PAIR OF SHOULDER BOARDS, BUTTONS, AIGUILLETTES, DRAGONNE, CROSS FOR SADDLE PAD OF MUSKETEER OF THE 1st COMPANY OF THE MILITARY HOUSEHOLD OF THE KING, RESTORATION. PAIR OF SHOULDER BOARDS Entirely in gold trimmings. The body is woven on the design of uniform braids with a scarlet silk stripe in the center; at its end the body is embroidered with the Musketeer Cross angled with three silver fleur-de-lys flames with the center of the Cross in silver cannetilles. Double gold turning, lining in scarlet cloth. This pair is composed of a counter-shoulder board (without fringes) and a shoulder board with soft fringes called "cords à puits" lined with a first row of fringes in much finer gold trimmings and a second row in daffodil wool. UNIFORM BUTTONS In gilded brass stamped with the emblem of the Musketeers and mounted on bone. Six large buttons (diameter 2.5 cm) and four small buttons (diameter 1.8 cm). They are enclosed in an ochre chamois purse. AIGUILLETTES Aiguillettes in gilded braid with gilded brass awls with two rings each decorated with three Musketeer Crosses with a silver center. The knot of the aiguillettes is lined with scarlet cloth. DRAGONNE Entirely in gilded braid, composed of a 2.1 cm wide cord with a length (folded in two) of 44 cm, woven in the design of the uniform braid. It ends with a pompom with soft fringes called "well cords". SCHABRAQUE CROSS It is embroidered in threads, cannetilles and gold sequins, silver braid on crimson and scarlet cloth. 13.5 cm x 13.5 cm. The center of the cross is composed of a silver braid. The exterior moldings of the cross, fleurs-de-lys and exterior borders of the flames are in gold threads, cannetilles and sequins. The flames are in crimson cloth. The whole is mounted on a scarlet cloth lined on the back with white paper. TRANSPORT BOX In cardboard covered with royal blue and white paper with on the lid the label of the furnisher "GUÉRIN. Embroiderer - passementier, Palais Royal, Galerie des Bons Enfans n° 175". Condition close to new, one epaulette is very slightly oxidized at the level of a loop, some buttons with small oxidations, box with rubbing on the corners and on the lid. France. Restoration. NOTE: Rare set especially in this state of conservation. The strap is specific to this company, it is an extremely rare example known in a few copies.
