Gold brooch with its safety chain with floral decoration dating from the Restoration period, first half of the 19th century, framing a beautiful cameo set in agate representing young Hercules wearing the skin of the Nemean lion, the profile turned to the left.
The cameo is older, it dates from the 18th century.
It is carved on three layers of agate, a brown layer for the lion's skin, the hero's face is carved in a layer of white agate and the background is a thickness of brown agate.
The whole is delightful and the cameo is in excellent condition.
