Enamel pendulum dated 1889. Novelty's clock. Circa 1900/1920.
Our Eiffel Tower is quite exceptional and remains a historical witness to the original version built in 1889 by Gustave Eiffel for the Universal Exhibition to celebrate the centenary of the French Revolution.
This model has the distinction of featuring a fame that may have been part of the original design.
The Eiffel Tower then displayed decorations that marked its era.
It was stripped of everything not dictated by a technical need in 1937 by the architect André Granet.
This resulted in the absence of certain decorative elements.
The first floor shows the arcaded galleries, later replaced by straight galleries.
The upper platform, shaped like a campanile, was destroyed by fire in 1956, necessitating extensive repairs during which the television antenna was modernized, bringing the tower's height to 318.70 m.
The original movement is in perfect working order and has been serviced.
A rare and very high-quality Eiffel Tower clock.
Dimensions:
23 cm x 23 cm at the base, 63 cm high.
