Togo Corner Module, Michel Ducaroy For Ligne Roset, Alcantara, 1980–1990

◼ HISTORY & DESIGN
Corner module from the Togo collection, designed by Michel Ducaroy in 1973 and manufactured by Ligne Roset in its Bugey workshops. The model introduced a construction principle unprecedented in home seating: a seat made entirely of foams of varying densities, without a wooden frame or legs, covered by a quilted polyester wadding cover. The corner element serves as the connecting piece, featuring a swiveling backrest and a particularly enveloping seat. The Togo ranks among the most widely distributed French designs of the second half of the 20th century.

◼ CONDITION REPORT (Transparence Galerie)
The upholstery is original Alcantara and has never been reupholstered. The patina is visible in the photographs: it results from the natural wear and tear of the material due to the piece’s age and use. The frame is in perfect condition, with no sagging, and the seat is fully functional.
