Monumental Rotating Napoleon Vase In Faience And Gilt Bronze – 19th Century
Exceptional large rotating vase in glazed faience, richly decorated in cobalt blue and gold and mounted with finely chased gilt-bronze elements.
The body features hand-painted historical scenes depicting Napoleon and the Battle of Waterloo, surrounded by Imperial emblems. The lid is surmounted by an Imperial crown, while the rotating body allows the painted scenes to be viewed from all sides.
The vase bears signatures and inscriptions on both the upper and lower sections, including “Impérial de Sèvres.”
A rare and highly decorative piece of impressive proportions and fine craftsmanship.
