A Louis XV-era Broken Duchesse, Stamped "philippe-joseph Pluvinet"
An elegant duchesse chair in two pieces, consisting of a chair and its footrest, made of molded wood and richly carved with flowers, foliage, and scrollwork. The backrest and side panels are scalloped, resting on curved legs characteristic of the Louis XV style.
The footstool is stamped “Philippe-Joseph Pluvinet,” who was admitted as a master in 1754. The set is upholstered in a beautiful raspberry-colored damask velvet.
Period: Louis XV, mid-18th century.

Condition: Previous restorations, minor chips, and traces of woodworm damage.
