Napoleon III-style Fireplace Mantelpiece In Gilded Bronze And Sèvres Blue Porcelain – Late 19th Century
A large mantelpiece set consisting of a clock and a pair of five-light candelabra, crafted in gilded bronze and cobalt-blue porcelain in the Sèvres style.
The clock features a porcelain case richly embellished with gilded motifs and adorned with bronze lion heads. Its enameled porcelain dial, decorated with Roman numerals, flowers, and two hand-painted cherubs, has two winding holes. The set rests on a substantial, finely chiseled gilt bronze base, adorned with scrollwork, foliage, and rocaille motifs.
The matching candelabra are decorated with hand-painted romantic scenes on one side and landscapes on the other. They are topped by five gilded bronze candleholders adorned with foliage and scrollwork.
