The silver is hallmarked with the manufacturer’s mark—depicting an eagle—official German hallmarks featuring a crescent and a crown, the silver’s fineness, and the dealer’s mark of Jacob Grimminger of Schwäbisch Gmünd, depicting a star.

An oval-shaped planter consisting of two parts: a removable brass inner container and a silver frame designed to hold it in place.

The frame rests on four curved legs adorned with stylized acanthus leaves. Its irregularly shaped rim is richly decorated with half-relief motifs including rocaille, oak leaves, cattails, and acanthus leaves. In the center of the long sides are cartouches designed to hold a monogram. Along the longitudinal axis, two slightly raised handles are adorned with acanthus leaves.

The brass interior is smooth, with an irregular rim that follows the shape of the silver mount. It is fitted with circular handles that allow it to be easily inserted or removed.
