Round lidded box decorated with brown nashiji lacquer and gold maki-e depicting rosettes composed of plum blossoms (ume), chrysanthemums (kiku), and cranes (tsuru), set against a stylized lakeside scene.
These traditional containers were used during the tea ceremony (chanoyu) to present and serve sweets (wagashi) to guests.
