Hand-painted; each side is unique. Crafted in the style of the Jacob Petit Manufactory. France, early 19th century, from the Restoration period, circa 1830–1840.
Jacob Mardochée (known as Jacob Petit), born and died in Paris (1796–1868), was a 19th-century French porcelain manufacturer. A student of Antoine-Jean Gros and later trained at the Sèvres porcelain manufactory, Jacob Petit specialized in luxury porcelain. His name remains synonymous with the originality of his work. Abundant and diverse, his pieces are today sought after for their originality, the quality of their finish, and the richness of their polychromy.
