Model 1822 Tbis Cavalry Pistol

Model 1822 Tbis Cavalry Pistol, newly manufactured as a percussion weapon with a hammerintegrated into the barrel.
Theengraved lock, marked “Mre Impale de Tulle,” is stamped with a crowned “B” within a shield.
The interior of the lock is in perfect condition. All parts bear the number 13, including the hammer and all screws.
The right side of the barrel is dated T.1856, where “T” stands for Tulle, and marked “MI” for Manufacture Impériale.
Beneath the stock is the date of rifling at St. Etienne, S 1861.
The breach block is engraved “Mle 1822 Tbis.”
The left side of the barrel is marked “C de 17.6 N. 17.6” for the caliber and “N” for new. This means that it is not a
rebored barrel, but that it was manufactured to the regulation caliber from the outset.
It also bears the CL and D hallmarks within a circle, indicating the Director and the Controller of the arsenal. The serial number 164 is stamped below.
On theside facing the breech block, the wood bears the fire arm’s serial number 164, which is difficult to read.
All the fittings are stamped, as is the trigger guard, which also bears the serial number 164.
This pistol is in good condition. The mechanism is in such good working order that it caused the barrel to jam. The notche sengage perfectly.
