Sword Belt For An Officer Of The Infantry Chasseurs, Model 1845
Officer's belt of the Chasseurs à pied, also known as the Chasseurs de Vincennes.
Made of black patent leather, with brass hardware featuring oval buckles embossed with ahunting horn resting on two laurel branches. They are connected by an S-shaped hook representing a cable.
The belt is complete with its two suspension straps for the unmodified Model 1838 saber—that is,the version with two belt loops—and features hooks for attaching the saber to its scabbard. A loop allowing the saber to be suspended at the side at the top of the first sling strap.
This belt is complete and in very good condition.
N.B.: The1845 belt sets that have retained their two sling straps, as used during the July Monarchy and the Second Empire, are quite rare.
