Antique side-by-side percussion hunting shotgun, dating from the second half of the 19th century, circa 1850–1870.
A fineexample of traditional French or Belgian craftsmanship, featuring twoexternal hammers, firing plates finely engraved with foliage motifs, and awalnut stock. The fittings are made of iron.
Total length: 96 cm.
both hammers cock and function properly. The barrels are smoothbore. Several antique hallmarks are present beneath the barrels, including an assembly number “70,” though it is not possible to attribute the weapon with certainty to a specific gunsmith.
The entire piece features a beautiful original patina, with normal signs of wear consistent with its age. The gun is complete and has not undergone any visible restoration.
A fine collector’s piece, representative of hunting rifles from the Napoleon III period, ideal for a collector of antique firearms or as a high-quality decorative item.
