Round snuffbox made of black-lacquered papier-mâché with a triple portrait, First Empire period (circa 1811–1812). The lid features a colored printed decoration protected by varnish, depicting, in profile and side by side: Francis II, Emperor of Austria; his daughter Marie Louise, Empress of the French; and Napoleon I in the uniform of a colonel of the Chasseurs à cheval. Circular inscription: “NAPOLEON I, EMPEROR OF THE FRENCH, Born August 15, 1769 – MARIE LOUISE, EMPRESS – FRANÇOIS II, EMPEROR OF AUSTRIA – NAPOLEON II, KING OF ROME, Born March 20, 1811.” French artifact commemorating the 1810 wedding and the birth of the King of Rome. Dimensions: diameter 9 cm; thickness 2 cm. Condition: good, shows signs of use; the enamel has micro-cracks due to age. A piece for a Napoleonic historical collection.
