Masonic Snuffbox – Early 19th Century

An antique rectangular snuffbox, slightly domed in shape, entirely carved and sculpted on all sides. The lid features an elegant figurative scene in the neoclassical style, consisting of two female figures draped in the classical manner framing a basket of flowers, in an allegorical composition. The sides are adorned with finely carved floral and geometric friezes, moldings, and repeated decorative motifs. The presence of the compass and square—traditional emblems of Freemasonry—confirms the Masonic nature of this snuffbox. Probably French, early 19th century, in the Neoclassical style. Dimensions: 8 × 3 × 3 cm. Condition: visible historical restoration on the lid, with cracks, repairs, and small historical fasteners showing oxidation. Signs of wear consistent with its age.
