Gallé Vase "with The Star" (motifs: Oxalis Clover And Orchid), 1904–1906.
Gallé Vase “with the Star” (motifs: Oxalis clover and orchid), 1904–1906. Small spherical vase with an elongated neck, made of multilayered glass by the Établissements Gallé in Nancy. Refined decoration achieved through acid etching depicting Oxalis clovers, wild orchids, and wild herbs; the motif is rendered in relief (cameo technique) in shades of tobacco brown on a satin-finished opaline white background. It bears the signature “Gallé” with the star (in relief), typical of the posthumous period 1904–1906 under the direction of Madame Henriette Gallé, Émile Gallé’s widow, in homage to the master who passed away in 1904. A high-quality piece, stylistically very close to the works created while the artist was still alive. Dimensions: height 10 cm, neck diameter 4 cm, base diameter 7 cm. Excellent condition: neck intact, free of chips or cracks.
