Beautifully Lacquered Grisaille Games Box, Spa, Belgium, Late 18th , Remarkable Condition

Charming rectangular box made of wood, painted on five sides, with a straw-colored ground highlighted by contrasting green and ivory lines. The lid, decorated in the same manner, features an animated landscape executed in shades of grey, depicting the meeting of two travelers. Red lacquered interior.

A Spa work box, originally intended for gaming counters and now empty, dating from the late 18th century or around 1800, with particularly attractive colors.

Dimensions: 19 cm x 14 cm x 5 cm.

Overall very good condition. Minor wear consistent with age and use, with only slight losses to the varnish. No restoration; original paint preserved.
