Large Honor Glass, crystal from Bohemia or Silesia, offered to professor and doctor emeritus Hugo Rühle, (1824-1888) who fought against tuberculosis and was professor at the University of Breslau. It is dated 1855, thick, translucent crystal, engraved in intaglio of the Philosopher Esculape, patron of Greek doctors, seated and thoughtful, his famous snake on caduceus, a rabbit and a rooster perched ..... Deep tool cutting for this "pokal", with a massively cut foot, which weighs 1 kilo!
Condition: good in appearance, but the stem and corolla were blown in two parts, heat welded, over the years created a rotating crack, and there is a chip in the thickness of the top rim. See our red arrows, these defects are hardly visible, otherwise.
Dimensions: approximately 18cm x 9.5cm. Take a good look at our Photos
