Renaissance Crystal Engraved Cup Baccarat, Late19th Century.

Covered cup, good size, blown and engraved crystal. It stands on a round foot, leg with a central baluster inside air bubble, between two turned rings. Thick body, flared edge. Retracting lid, small fretel turned. Superb decoration, in deep carving with the wheel, and drawing its inspiration from the vases of rock crystal ornaments of the 16th century, which belonged to the treasury of the Crown. Flower and fruit garlands, insect, flying griffin, shredded flowers.
