This mask is a Kpélié (or Kpeliye'e) dance mask originating from the Senufo people (Ivory Coast, Mali, and Burkina Faso).Main stylistic features: This type of anthropomorphic mask is distinguished by very precise artistic conventions: A refined oval face with half-closed almond-shaped eyes and a slender, straight nose.Complex scarification patterns, here accentuated by inlays of materials or geometric motifs on the forehead and cheeks.
