Chinese porcelain lidded jar with polychrome decoration – Late 19th century
Elegant circular lidded jar made of Chinese porcelain, featuring a rich, hand-painted polychrome decoration.
The body and lid are adorned with lively scenes depicting various figures in landscapes featuring architecture, trees, rocks, and vegetation.
A calligraphic inscription accompanied by a small red seal appears on one of the sides. The slightly domed lid is topped with a floral-button-shaped handle, partially highlighted in gold. Gold bands accentuate the rims.
A red six-character seal mark is present on the base.
Chinese work, likely made in the late 19th or early 20th century, circa 1880–1910.
In good overall condition considering its age. Wear to the gilding, minor firing imperfections, and signs of use visible in the photographs.
