Large cylindrical, upright sundial, known as a “shepherd’s sundial,” turned from boxwood, unsigned but French, dating from the second half of the 18th century
.
The sundial is of an unusual size, standing 17.6 cm tall.
Beautiful patina and a rare example that has retained its original cord, allowing it to be used.
Beautiful engravings of the numerals and the first letters of each of the twelve months of the year.
Uncommon at this size.
