Auguste Moreau (1834–1917) “ombelles” Gilded Pewter Table Mirror, Art Nouveau, Circa 1900

Elegant Art Nouveau table mirror made of pewter, formerly gilded, signed Aug. Moreau, with rich relief decoration featuring flowers and plant motifs.

The composition, with its fluid and naturalistic lines, is characteristic of the Art Nouveau aesthetic around 1900. The mirror features a beautiful antique patina, with areas where the gilding has worn away to reveal the underlying pewter, giving the surface a subtle and nuanced tone.

The mirror retains its gilded brass wire backing, forming an easel that allows it to be positioned at the desired angle.
