A large Art Nouveau Stoneware Ewer by Gilbert Méténier.
This magnificent pitcher was known as the "Persian Carafe" and dates from around 1920, perhaps earlier.
It is glazed in deep blue and shades of ocher and coppery brown and has a a dimpled belly and reticulated handle.
