Paul Bellanger-Adhémar was born in Fontainebleau in 1868 and died in 1948.
A student of Jules Lefebvre and Cormon, he made his debut at the 1894 Salon; he was a member of the Artistes Français, where he exhibited until 1925. He initially painted landscapes of Corsica, then moved on to views of Holland and Brittany, and finally to Italian gardens. He created color etchings at G. Petit’s studio.
