Douglas Mont Pair Of “yakisugi” Or Charred Oak Tripod Stools, 20th Century
A pair of tripod stools beautifully crafted by French designer Douglas Mont. A thick, beveled seat rests on three spindle-shaped legs. Finished in charred oak with visible wood grain, each stool is individually and manually treated by wood artisans in France and signed on the base.
Designed in 2019 by Douglas Mont, the RISPAL stool is inspired by farmhouse stools, which are both rustic and authentic.
It is not a tribute to Charlotte Perriand, but rather a nod to the simple world of yesteryear—a sturdy tripod topped with a beveled seat, featuring a beautifully thick, slightly curved piece of wood that is soft and comfortable.
