Adrienne Henczné Deák - Still Life With Peonies
Adrienne Henczné Deák (1890–1957) was a renowned Hungarian artist of the first half of the 20th century and a painter known for her still lifes.
Her works are part of the collections of the Hungarian National Gallery.
Early in her artistic career, she made a name for herself with expressive paintings of animals, but it was primarily her floral still lifes that brought her the greatest international renown.
Her rustic bouquets of peonies, roses, lilacs, and sunflowers became one of the hallmarks of her work. Some of her paintings are distinguished by a soft, impressionistic touch, deep and noble tones, and a remarkable rendering of the texture of the petals, as in this still life.
