Claude Morin (1932–2021), Turquoise Glass Vase Or Lamp Base, France, Circa 1970

Artist: Claude Morin (1932-2021)

Vase or lamp base with a flattened body, made of beautiful dark turquoise glass, just the right amount of translucency, signed “Morin” on the bottom. France, circa 1970. In perfect condition, with tiny tiny scratches that are barely noticeable.

Claude Raymond Morin, born August 16, 1932, and died July 11, 2021, in Dieulefit (Drôme), was a French glassmaker and a pioneer of the Studio Glass movement in France. In 1970, he and his wife Florence founded the “Le Pontil” glassworks in Dieulefit. It closed in 2005 when Claude Morin retired. The last photo shows Florence and Claude Morin in 1975.
