Lalique – “tanega” Vase In Clear And Green Crystal – Marie-claude Lalique, 1980s

Important Tanega vase by Lalique, designed by Marie-Claude Lalique, René Lalique’s granddaughter.

Crafted from thick, colorless crystal, the vase features a striking botanical motif in green crystal, formed by a large stylized leaf that hugs and unfolds across the shoulder of the piece.

The crystalwork combines transparent, polished, and satin-finished surfaces. The deeply modeled veins of the leaf, along with the variations in texture, give the design remarkable depth and create a beautiful contrast with the transparency of the vase’s body.

With its substantial dimensions and the sculptural power of its design, the Tanega model is one of the most distinctive creations from Lalique’s production under the artistic direction of Marie-Claude Lalique in the 1980s; production of this model ceased in 1993.

The piece bears the engraved signature “Lalique France” beneath the base.
