Pair Of 19th-century Regency “witch” Mirrors – Gilded Carved Wood – Imperial Eagle Motif

A rare and elegant pair of small convex mirrors, known as “witch mirrors,” from the Regency/Empire period, dating from the 19th century.

Each mirror is adorned with remarkable carved and gilded decoration depicting an eagle with outstretched wings surmounting a circular convex mirror, finished with a cascade of stylized foliage in the neoclassical style. Very fine decorative quality with a strong visual presence on the wall despite their modest dimensions.

The carved work and original gilding offer a superb, warm patina typical of authentic 19th-century pieces. The antique convex mirrors create a particularly elegant and sophisticated visual effect in interior design.
