Modernist Art Deco "skyscraper" Desk Lamp, Polished Copper And Chrome-plated Brass, Circa 1930–40
An elegant and unconventional modernist lamp inspired by Art Deco, whose architectural composition directly evokes the 1930s “Skyscraper” movement, drawing on the aesthetics of skyscrapers and modernist architecture.
Its imposing base is constructed as a succession of vertical volumes and geometric pillars, alternating between polished copper and chrome-plated brass. The various projections, chrome elements, and decorative spheres reinforce this highly distinctive architectural effect.
An elegant curved chrome arm extends this structure and supports a frosted glass shade, which can be adjusted thanks to its joint.
The rectangular base also features a beautiful lever switch, perfectly integrated into the overall design.
The lamp has been carefully restored, and its electrical wiring has been completely redone. It works perfectly.
A particularly interesting decorative piece due to its powerful and unusual design, blending Art Deco, Modernism, and the “Skyscraper” architectural aesthetic.
