Baoulé Elephant Mask, Ivory Coast
Rare Baoulé elephant mask from the Ivory Coast, height 50 cm, in good condition,with signs of wear, from the middle of the last century. These masks are rare; they are festive masks used for celebrations. They are not easy to carve, with all their hollow and solid sections, and are fragile. This is the first one I’ve found that is complete and in good condition.
