Antique Indonesian carved bone toggle from the Dayak peoples of Borneo, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century.
Carved from buffalo bone, this ethnographic piece is worked on both sides and decorated with traditional triangular incised borders and sunburst rosette motifs. The sculptural, interlocking form and balanced symmetry are characteristic of Dayak utilitarian ornaments.
The two pierced holes show clear smoothing and darkened patina from prolonged use, confirming its function as a toggle or fastener, likely for a bag, garment, or personal adornment.
A genuine and well-used example of Southeast Asian tribal craftsmanship.
Width: 9.5 cm
Condition: Good condition, with wear consistent with age and use.
