A circular tortoiseshell box with a pomponne mount, decorated with a silver and enamel "Gage d'Amitié" latticework set under glass. Date: late 18th century or very early 19th century.

The ideal size for holding cufflinks.
This object was made in part from materials derived from protected species (ivory, tortoiseshell) well before the 1947 Washington Convention, and is therefore not subject to its provisions.
