"18th Century French School, Portrait Of An Aristocratic Lady As Flora, Pastel"
18th-century French School, portrait of an aristocratic lady dressed in Greek style as Flora. This oval pastel is presented in its original frame, made of molded oak and gilded with gold leaf. Late Louis XV period, circa 1770. Our portrait is inspired by the composition of the portraits of the Countess du Barry by Drouais or as a bust by Pajou. At the height of fashion, our young woman with a mischievous look is depicted here in Greek style, as Flora. Her almost transparent finery barely conceals the attributes of her charm. A beautiful painting, well executed, very representative of this period of transition between Louis XV and Louis XVI. The subject is fresh and very charming. Very good condition, the carved wooden frame gilded with gold leaf has been cleaned, it retains its original 18th-century gilding. Frame: 68cm x 79.5cm
