Art Deco Rose Quartz Seal – Panther Head
An elegant Art Deco desk seal, circa 1930–1940, combining semi-precious stones and a gilded metal setting with great refinement.
The seal rests on a circular rose quartz base, topped by a central element made of the same material. The upper part is adorned with a spectacular stylized panther head in black stone—likely onyx or agate—characteristic of the Art Deco taste for contrasts in materials and colors.
The head is brought to life by green cabochons set as eyes and holds in its mouth a cylindrical rose quartz element, accented by two small colorless stones. A rich, finely crafted gold setting, adorned with foliage motifs and openwork, provides the transition between the various elements.
The circular face of the seal is engraved with an elegant interlaced “AP” monogram.
A truly beautiful Art Deco desk accessory, particularly decorative, whose quality of craftsmanship and the combination of rose quartz, black stone, and the gold setting evoke the exquisite creations of jewelry and goldsmith houses from the interwar period.
