Milk Time — Faience Cat With Chagrin Glaze, Vinsare In Sèvres
A faience cat depicted crouching in front of a small bowl, its head delicately tilted toward it.
Its ivory-white glaze, known as “chagrin glaze,” has a finely grained surface that accentuates the animal’s rounded forms. The eyes, highlighted in black, and the bowl with its glossy black glaze create a contrast characteristic of Art Deco aesthetics.
A charming composition with simple, stylized lines.
