An elegant circular plaque in Roman micromosaic, crafted from extremely fine polychrome glass tesserae depicting a pair of doves, accompanied by a third bird, set within a natural landscape against a deep blue background. The refined black-and-white geometric border—a distinctive feature of the finest Roman work of the period—is an important stylistic characteristic attributable to the School of Giacomo Raffaelli.
