Brass carriage clock, "Corniche" model. Case engraved with a foliate motif. Movement features hour and half-hour striking (both passing and on-demand via a push-button). Cylinder escapement. Beveled glass panels. Height: 17.5 cm. Bears the "SGDG" patent mark and the initials "HA" for Henri Acier, a clockmaker based on Rue des Trois Bornes, Paris. Patent for the carriage clock base filed in 1867; manufactured circa 1880. The clock is in good working order regarding both the movement and the striking mechanism.
