An Alsatian reverse glass painting from the first half of the 19th century, depicting Saint Barbara. Set against a black background, the saint is shown in a bust-length portrait within an oval medallion featuring a blue background. The medallion is adorned with a brown border featuring white patterns and accented with red and white flowers. Barbara is dressed in a red gown and a blue cape; she wears a crown on her head and holds a sword in her hands. The saint’s name, “S. BARBE,” is inscribed beneath the medallion.
