Artist: Henry Dropsy

Art medal in patinated bronze, signed by Henri Dropsy, depicting Eve and the serpent. Edge marked “BRONZE” with a triangular hallmark.
The reverse features a garland with a butterfly and the artist’s monogram below the butterfly.
An iconic subject for the artist, in the late Art Nouveau/Art Deco style.
Some wear on the patina on the reverse and on the tip of Eve’s nose...

Henri Dropsy, French artist (January 21, 1885–November 2, 1969), medalist, goldsmith, engraver, and sculptor.
Professor of medal engraving at the École des Beaux-Arts and member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts, engraving section, from 1942 onward.
